Scenic World is the ideal place to introduce students to the natural environment of the World Heritage-listed area that is the Blue Mountains.

There is no easier way to get to and from the ancient Jamison Valley than on the Scenic Railway and Scenic Cableway. The  rides connect to the Scenic Walkway - almost three kilometres of elevated boardwalk along which students can observe the flora and fauna of the temperate rainforest; and learn about the mining heritage of the area.

Teachers may lead their own tours ('Rides Only') or we can arrange for a trained guide to accompany the class ('Rides & Guide').

Children from Kindergarten to Year 8 will get the most out of the experience through a 'Rides & Guide' tour.  This will normally start with a ride into the valley on the world's steepest railway. The guide will escort the group along the walkway, past the old coalmines and through the rainforest.  They will return to the cliff top on the cableway, a gentle 500 metre ride that offers spectacular views, including the Three Sisters, Orphan Rock and Katoomba Falls.  During busy times, the trip may start with the cableway and return via the railway.

Whether on a 'Rides Only' or 'Rides & Guide' tour, teachers will be able to use the Rainforest classroom on the walkway for review. The class may also take in a short and informative video about the area in the Scenic Cinema.
