Press Release - Skyway Goes Both Ways |
|
Katoomba Scenic Skyway Now Goes Both Ways!!!! Scenic World's Scenic Skyway is now able to load and unload passengers at its new Eastern terminal.
For the coach passenger this will provide a unique approach to the Premier Tourist attraction of the Blue Mountains, imagine not just arriving at Scenic World in a coach but arriving by Cable Car!
Coach passengers will be able to disembark at the terminus of the Prince Henry Cliff Walk and enjoy a 5 minute stroll to the Skyway terminus along the concrete, (wheelchair) accessible, pathway.
Passengers will also be able to be picked up from the Eastern Terminal after travelling from Scenic World on the Skyway.
There is no coach or car parking at the East Terminal, it is purely a drop off zone. The free parking at Scenic World will continue to be available.
THE GREAT ROUND WALK
Independent travellers will be able to utilise this facility to complete the Great Round Walk from Echo Point down the Giant Stairway, around the Federal Pass to the valley below Scenic World, then up either the Scenic Railway or the Scenic Cableway to the top, cross the Katoomba Falls Gorge on the Skyway and complete the circuit via the Prince Henry Cliff walk. This walk can be completed in 2-3 hours
Other less enthusiastic walkers, can take a trip on the Skyway, get off and walk the 50 metres to Cliff View Lookout, one of the most spectacular lookouts on the Price Henry Cliff Walk, enjoy the view, watch the Cableway go up and down, watch the Skyway go back and forth, then return, to once again experience the excitement of a cable car ride on a glass floor 200 metres up above the Rainforest.
