Survive the school holidays in the mountains

Are your kids crazy for creepy crawlies? Treat the little adventurers to a tour of a lifetime and join in the WilderQuest fun in the Blue Mountains. National Parks and Wildlife Service Discovery rangers will guide you through the Blue Mountains’ bug ecosystem and fill you in with juicy details like where they live, what they eat and why they’re so important to the environment. The kids may even spot bugs they’ve never seen before! Monday 15 January and Tuesday 23 January 2018, 10am–12pm. Bookings are essential.
And now for something completely different… Head on down to the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre for an interactive workshop that will introduce the kids to the amazing world of creative coding. Using the latest innovative apps, the kids will explore new technologies, develop their own worlds and solve problems as they go along. Monday 15 January and Tuesday 16 January 2018, 10am–2pm. Scenic World comes alive in the Summer months, with long days and brilliant weather providing the perfect stage for exciting adventures. Join us for Feathered Friends, a free interactive wildlife display where kids will be able to hold friendly pythons, bearded dragons and curious owls in their hands while they learn about how these incredible creatures survive in the wild. We also have online exclusive early bird family passes from just $94, including entry for 2 adults and up to 5 children under 13 years old.
Step back in time at the historic Leuralla mansion! Housing the largest collection of 20th century toys, trains and associated memorabilia in the Southern Hemisphere, the Toy and Railway Museum will entertain the young and young at heart. Open every day of the week from 10.00am – 5.00pm.
This is an outdoor experience the whole family can enjoy together! Take a guided tour with an Aboriginal NPWS ranger as you descend through the bush and walk along the waterway to the magnificent hidden Walls Cave at Blackheath.
