Scenic World Terms and Conditions
Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using this website, or obtaining or using any Tickets. By using or visiting this website, or by obtaining or using any Tickets, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. Scenic World may vary these terms and conditions at any time if it considers it reasonably necessary to do so to protect its legitimate interests. Any variation will become effective upon publication on this website.

2. Standard conditions of sale
2.1 The following words have the following meanings in these terms and conditions, unless the context requires otherwise:
(a) ‘Pass Holder’ means an individual who is issued with and holds a valid Pass as defined in clause 2.3.
(b) ‘Scenic World’ means Katoomba Scenic Railway Pty Ltd ABN 44 000 055 372 and its related companies operating the attractions known as the Scenic Railway, Scenic Skyway and Scenic Cableway (together the ‘Rides’) and the Scenic Walkway in Katoomba NSW.
(c) ‘terms and conditions’ means the terms and conditions set out in this document.
(d) ‘Ticket Holder’ means an individual who is issued with and holds a valid Ticket as defined in clause 2.3.
(e) ‘You’ and ‘Your’ includes Pass Holders, Ticket Holders, customers of Scenic World, visitors and guests of any site or attraction operated by Scenic World and persons taken to have agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions.
2.2 A Pass, subject to these terms and conditions and the type of Pass purchased as detailed below, entitles the Pass Holder to use the attractions operated by Scenic World. No food, beverage or merchandise is included in the cost of a Pass and this must be purchased separately.
2.3 Pass and Ticket Entitlements
The following passes (‘Passes’) and tickets (‘Tickets’) have the following conditions of use, subject to these terms and conditions:
(a) DISCOVERY PASS
(i) The discovery pass includes all versions of this pass (Early Bird, Saver etc) except for the Ultimate Discovery Pass.
(ii) The Discovery Pass Pass Holder is entitled to as many rides, on any Ride that is available, while the Pass is valid.
(iii) A Discovery Pass expires at the time of the last trip of the Rides (as determined by Scenic World) on the same day on which the Pass is issued or activated (whichever occurs later), or as otherwise notified by Scenic World.
(b) ULTIMATE DISCOVERY PASS
(i) The Ultimate Discovery Pass Pass Holder is entitled to as many rides, on any Ride that is available, while the Pass is valid.
(ii) An Ultimate Discovery Pass expires at the time of the last trip of the Rides (as determined by Scenic World) on the same day on which the Pass is issued or activated (whichever occurs later), or as otherwise notified by Scenic World.
(iii) The Ultimate Discovery Pass is subject to a trade discount when being purchased by an entity (company, not for profit, school, etc), but not a natural person, proof of this entity may be required at time of purchase. If the entity is an account holder the Trade Account Holders Terms and Conditions Apply. If the entity is not an account holder payment must be made prior to receiving any Ultimate Discovery Passes.
(iv) Scenic World reserves the right to vary any discounts at any time.
(v) The entity must provide a copy or allow customers to view these Scenic World Terms and Conditions to all of its customers who obtain a Scenic World ticket from the entity at the same time as providing the ticket or pass (these terms and conditions are available in the Group Arrival Area and the Main Ticket Sales Area).
(vi) Scenic World reserves the right to refuse a discount to an entity, where that entity, or a person acting on behalf of that entity (an employee, contractor or other person purchasing tickets on behalf of the entity) behave in a manner that is disingenuous, fraudulent, aggressive, or other such behaviour that Scenic World deems unreasonable. This refusal may extend for a time period that Scenic World may nominate at its discretion.
(C) ONE WAY PASS
(i) The One Way Pass Pass Holder is entitled to a single one way trip on any one of the 3 rides that is available.
(ii) This ticket must be purchased after the single trip is completed if the ride is boarded at the remote stations of the ride (the valley for the Railway and Cableway, the East station for the Skyway).
(iii) The One Way Pass is subject to the following conditions when purchased by an entity (company, not for profit, school, etc), but not a natural person
(A) a trade discount may be applied to Railway and Cableway One Way Passes only. Scenic World reserves the right to vary any discounts at any time.
(B) proof of this entity may be required at time of purchase.
(C) If the entity is an account holder the Trade Account Holders Terms and Conditions Apply
(D) There is no discount on Child or Family One Way Rates (4-13 Years of Age).
(E) The entity must provide a copy or allow customers to view these Scenic World Terms and Conditions to all of its customers who obtain a Scenic World ticket from the entity at the same time as providing the ticket or pass (these terms and conditions are available at the point of the Pass purchase).
(F) Scenic World reserves the right to refuse a discount to an entity, where that entity, or a person acting on behalf of that entity (an employee, contractor or other person purchasing tickets on behalf of the entity) behave in a manner that is disingenuous, fraudulent, aggressive, or other such behaviour that Scenic World deems unreasonable. This refusal may extend for a time period that Scenic World may nominate at its discretion.
(d) ANNUAL PASS+ and FAMILY ANNUAL PASS+
(i) The Annual Pass+ and the Family Annual Pass+ are valid for twelve months from the date of activation.
(ii) The Annual Pass+ Pass Holder, on presentation of that Pass at the Scenic World ticketing counter with photographic identification, is entitled to one Discovery Pass on the day of presentation.
(iii) The Family Annual Pass+ Pass Holder, on presentation of that Pass at the Scenic World ticketing counter with photographic identification, entitles up to two registered adults and up to five children under the age of 14 to each be issued with Discovery Pass on the day of presentation.
(iv) Upon arrival at the Scenic World site the Annual Pass+ or Family Annual Pass+ Passes must be presented with photographic identification at any ticketing counter.
(v) The Annual Pass+ or Family Annual Pass+ Pass Holder is entitled to a 15% discount on any purchases made at any retail outlet operated by Scenic World including retail, food and beverage and additional tickets (limited to five (5) tickets per day) and excluding additional or renewal of Annual Passes. A valid Pass must be presented to staff before finalising purchase.
(vi) Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
(vii) A lost or stolen Annual Pass+ or Family Annual Pass+ Pass must be reported immediately to email@example.com for cancellation and re-issue. Those Pass Holders receive one complimentary re-issue. All subsequent replacements will incur a $5 re-issue fee.
(viii) Annual Pass+ or Family Annual Pass+ Passes may not be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount.
(e) EVENT TICKET and FAMILY EVENT TICKET
(i) The Event Ticket entitles the Ticket Holder to attend the event and/or participate in the tour at the relevant scheduled date and time to which the Event Ticket applies.
(ii) The Family Event Ticket entitles up to two registered adults and up to five children under the age of 14 to each be issued with an Event Ticket to the relevant event and/or tour.
(iii) An Event Ticket expires at the conclusion of the event or tour as displayed on the Event Ticket and the Scenic World website.
(iv) The date and time of an event or tour is correct at the time of publication on the Scenic World website. Scenic World reserves the right to change or cancel an event or tour without notice.
(v) If an event or tour is cancelled due solely to a decision by Scenic World, Scenic World will refund the face value of the relevant Event Ticket or will provide the Ticket Holder with the same type of ticket to a future or rescheduled event or tour. Tickets are subject to capacity and entry is at Scenic World’s discretion.
(vi) Late arrival may result in non-admittance until a suitable time during an event or tour as determined by Scenic World.
(vii) Cameras, video and audio recorders, mobile phones, electronic games, pagers and any other electronic devices may not be permitted in certain events and tours at the discretion of Scenic World. Scenic World may also request that all mobile phones be turned off before entry into an event.
2.4 Passes and Tickets remain the property of Scenic World and may be withdrawn, at any time without notice if Scenic World considers it reasonably necessary to do so to protect its legitimate interests.
2.5 Passes and Tickets are non-transferable, non-exchangeable (other than as permitted in clause xand non-refundable (subject to any requirement at law to the contrary, including under Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)).
2.5A Passes and Tickets may be exchanged before 5:00pm on the day before the date of admission printed on the booking for the Passes or Ticket for the same Pass or Ticket on another date, time or date and time subject to availability. If the Scenic World price of the original Pass or Ticket is lower than the new Pass or Ticket to be exchanged, then the difference must be paid to Scenic World before the issue of the new Pass or Ticket. If the Scenic World price of the original Pass or Ticket is higher than the new Pass or Ticket to be exchanged, then the difference will be forfeited.
2.6 Passes and Tickets are void if altered or removed from a person’s wrist.
2.7 By entering the Scenic World site or using any attraction operated by Scenic World, all Pass Holders, Ticket Holders, customers, visitors and guests agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
2.8 Scenic World will not be liable for any loss or expense incurred by any Pass Holder, Ticket Holder or any customer, visitor or guest in respect of, and Scenic World will not be liable for any refunds in respect of (subject to any requirement at law to the contrary) Scenic World, in its sole discretion, closing or delaying any Ride or attraction on a permanent or temporary basis due to inclement weather, breakdown, power outage, refurbishment, acts of God, safety, emergency or other circumstances outside Scenic World’s control.
2.9 Conditions printed on the Pass, Ticket, wristband, receipt, annual Pass wallet, and annual Pass card are part of these terms and conditions.
2.10 Persons must be aged between 4 to 13 years inclusive to be eligible for “children” Tickets or Passes.
2.11 Family Passes and Tickets are limited to a maximum of 2 adults and 5 children per Pass or Ticket (as the case may be).
2.12 Concession prices are available to
(a) Australian and New Zealand Government Pension card holders
(b) Pension Card holders from another country who can produce a valid pension card
(c) Australian and New Zealand Student card holders, and
(d) International Student Card holders only.
The original valid Pension card must be presented at the time of purchase or when exchanging a receipt for a wristband for online purchases.
2.13 All Ticket and Pass prices quoted are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of GST. Any purchase you make will be charged in Australian dollars. You are solely liable for any currency conversion fee, including any fee charged by your credit card provider or bank.
2.14 Scenic World may collect and use your personal data and information provided, for its business purposes. This includes being contacted by email.
2.15 Additional conditions for online purchases of Passes and Tickets
(a) To purchase a Pass or Ticket you must complete the online ordering process, including:
(i) selecting the Pass or Ticket you wish to purchase;
(ii) nominating a valid email address to receive the receipt of purchase; and
(iii) paying the total amount of the sale in the method permitted.
(b) The contract between you and Scenic World for the purchase of any Pass or Ticket, only becomes binding when Scenic World emails you with a receipt and e-ticket at the last stage of the ordering process which notifies you that Scenic World has processed your order and provides you with a reference number.
(c) If Scenic World sends any Pass or Ticket to you by post, Scenic World takes no responsibility for any Passes or Tickets damaged or lost in transit, or late, lost, or misdirected mail and will not replace or refund value for lost, stolen or damaged Passes or Tickets.
(d) Scenic World is not obliged to accept your order and may reject or cancel your order if:
(i) the Pass or Ticket is unavailable; or
(ii) full payment is not received; or
(iii) there is an error in your order; or
(iv) we believe, or reasonably suspect that your order is fraudulent; or
(v) we believe, or reasonably suspect that you will use the Pass or Ticket for a fraudulent or unlawful purpose.
(e) If you purchase a Pass or Ticket online, you must present the printed e-ticket or other proof of purchase required by Scenic World at the ticket desk on arrival in exchange for a valid wristband. You may also be required to producing the credit card that was used to make the purchase, and photo identification matching that credit card.
(f) Passes and Tickets offered for sale online will be valid for redemption for a particular period of time or in some cases will only be valid for a specific date and time, as determined by Scenic World. That period of time or specific date and time will be noted on the receipt. After that time the Pass or Ticket (as the case may be) is no longer valid and entry is at Scenic World’s discretion.
(g) Subject to any condition, warranty or right implied by, or any statutory consumer guarantee contained in, any law (including the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) which cannot by law be excluded by agreement:
(i) Scenic World gives no warranties, and you have no other rights, apart from those, if any, expressly set out in these terms and conditions: and
(ii) all implied conditions, warranties and rights are excluded.
(h) Where any condition, warranty or right is implied by law, or any statutory consumer guarantee applies, and cannot be excluded, Scenic World limits its liability for breach of, or other act contrary to, that implied condition, warranty or right or statutory consumer guarantee:
(i) subject to the qualifications in section 64A of Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or any other law, to any one or more of the following (as Scenic World may determine):
(A) the replacement of the goods or the supply of equivalent goods:
(B) the repair of the goods;
(C) the payment of the costs of replacing the goods or of acquiring equivalent goods;
(D) the payment of the costs of having the goods repaired;
(E) the supplying of the services again; or
(F) the payment of the cost of having the services supplied again; and
(ii) otherwise, to the extent permitted by law.
(iii) Subject to clauses 2.14(g) and 2.14(h), and despite any implication arising from any other provisions of these terms and conditions, Scenic World is not, and will not be, liable to you in contract, in tort (including negligence), under any statute (to the extent permitted by law) or otherwise for, or in respect of, any:
(iv) indirect or consequential loss or damage; or
(v) loss of profits, sales, turnover, reputation (or damage to it), production, anticipated savings, goodwill, business opportunities, customers, software or data, or loss of use of any software or data, or loss under, or in relation to, any other contract; in each case, whether of a direct, indirect or consequential nature, suffered by you or any other person and arising out of any breach or other act or omission in connection with these terms and conditions.
2. Standard conditions of Entry
3.1 The following conditions in this clause 3 apply to all persons on the Scenic World site or who use any attraction operated by Scenic World whether they have purchased a Pass or Ticket or not.
3.2 Scenic World reserves the right to direct all persons on the Scenic World site or who use any attraction operated by Scenic World to whichever Ride is available into or out of the valley, for safety, operational, or other reasons. A combination of Rides at Scenic World is not guaranteed.
3.3 Scenic World reserves the right to load the Rides at its discretion and you must abide by all instructions given by any Scenic World staff, including any Ride attendant.

3.4 Due to safety or operational requirements, physical restrictions may apply to some Rides.
3.5 All persons on the Scenic World site or who use any attraction operated by Scenic World consent to being filmed or sound recorded for television, video, DVD, webcast, photography, social media or other public broadcast. Scenic World may use these for commercial purposes without payment to you.
3.6 Access to the Scenic World site and use of any attraction operated by Scenic World, including the Rides, Scenic Walkway, and adjacent facilities is at your own risk and if you sustain any personal injury, loss or damage to property, you hereby agree that Scenic World is not liable to you and has no responsibility to you for any such personal injury, loss or damage to property. You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of any children at all times through responsible behaviour.
3.7 Scenic World reserves the right to refuse access to the Scenic World site and use of any attraction operated by Scenic World, including the Rides and the Scenic Walkway, and adjacent facilities by any person. All children under the age of 14 years must be accompanied by an adult who shall be solely responsible for their care and conduct whilst on Scenic World’s premises. Unattended children are not allowed on the Rides, the Scenic Walkway without being accompanied by an adult.
3.8 Scenic World will use its reasonable efforts to return Pass Holders and Ticket Holders (if applicable) on its premises to the main station at the time of the last ride each day. Scenic World accepts no responsibility for persons who may be left in the valley or at the Skyway Eastern station after the last trip at 16:55 hrs (4.55pm), being the last scheduled time each day that the Scenic Railway, Scenic Cableway and Scenic Skyway leave their respective Valley or Skyway Eastern stations. Scenic World may at its discretion operate the Rides later during busy periods when Ride capacity is exceeded to return all Pass Holders and Ticket Holders (if applicable) from the Valley Stations or Skyway Eastern Station. Once the last trip for any given day on any of the rides has been completed, out of hours retrieval trips may be charged for.
3.9 The Scenic Walkway allows you access to a rainforest area whilst protecting the environment. You are requested not to leave the Scenic Walkway or interfere with, pick, touch or mark any flora or fauna. Your consideration is appreciated by Scenic World and will be appreciated by visitors who come after you.
3.10 Alcohol and glassware not purchased at Scenic World is not permitted to be brought onto any site or attraction operated by Scenic World.
3.11 You may be removed from the Scenic World site or any attraction operated by Scenic World for inappropriate behaviour. You may be refused entry or removed from any site or attraction operated by Scenic World if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
3.12 The Rides will not operate (unless otherwise specified by Scenic World) outside advertised opening hours.
3.13 All persons must abide by any other conditions communicated by Scenic World staff or displayed at the Scenic World site or attraction operated by Scenic World.
3.14 In these terms and conditions a reference to includes or including means including without limitation.
3.15 These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales.
Dinosaur Valley Express Competition
Terms & Conditions
- Information on the Competition and how to enter forms part of these conditions of entry. By entering the Competition you agree to be bound by these conditions of entry and all decisions of the Competition promoter (Katoomba Scenic Railway Pty Ltd T/A Scenic World), which are final in all matters relating to the promotion. The Competition and these conditions of entry are void where prohibited by law. Any changes to these conditions of entry will be published on the Scenic World website at www.scenicworld.com.au
- The promoter is Katoomba Scenic Railway Pty Ltd. T/A Scenic World of 1 Violet St, Katoomba, NSW 2780.
- Employees of Scenic World, their subsidiaries, affiliated companies, and members of their immediate families or households, are ineligible to apply for this Competition.
- The Competition entries can be submitted from 9:00am Australian Eastern Standard Time (UTC + 10) on July 7, 2018 and entries close at 5:00pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST, UTC +10) on July 22, 2018. Entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt by Scenic World and Scenic World records are conclusive as to the time of receipt. All dates are subject to change if necessary at Scenic World’s discretion.
- Entry is only available onsite at Scenic World via the iPads located in the main plaza.

- Only entries submitted onsite via the competition iPads will be accepted. Multiple entries are allowed.
- Ten families will be chosen by our Chief Marketing Officer and Managing Director.
- Judging will take place on Wednesday 25 July, 2018 at 10.00am (AEST) at Scenic World, 1 Violet St, Katoomba. The judges’ decision is final. Prize cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash.
- The promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry which, in the opinion of promoter, includes objectionable content, profanity, potentially insulting, inflammatory or defamatory statements. The promoter may disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions of entry or who has, in the opinion of promoter, engaged in conduct in entering the promotion which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the promotion and/or promoter.
- The Competition Winners will be notified via email by Friday July 27, 2018.
- If any Prize Winner is not immediately identifiable or contactable Scenic World will make reasonable efforts to identify and/or contact Prize Winners. If Prize Winners have not accepted the prize within five business days, alternative entries will be selected.
- No responsibility is accepted for late, lost or misdirected mail or any errors or failures in internet or other communications. Scenic World reserves the right to cancel or modify the competition promotion if, in its sole discretion, the administration of the competition promotion is impaired for technical or other reasons beyond its reasonable control. In such an event, the promoter may select the competition Prize Winner from all valid entries received prior to the impairment.
- Prize Winners agree that acceptance of the prize is conditional upon compliance with all relevant laws, rules and regulations and upon the Prize Winner releasing Scenic World, and their affiliates, subsidiaries, directors, officers, employees and agents, from any and all liability, claims, demands and causes of action for any personal injury or other loss or damage (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) suffered in connection with the acceptance or use of the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. Scenic World reserves the right to disqualify the Prize Winner at its absolute discretion in the event of non-compliance or the failure to provide such releases.
- If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any causes beyond the control of the promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, subject to any written direction given under state regulation.

A family pass (2 adults and up to 5 children under 13 years old) on Saturday 3 November at 08:30am to travel on the first Scenic Railway into the valley. Prize Winners are welcome to utilise all rides during the day.
Entry to the official ribbon cutting event to launch Scenic World Presents Dinosaur Valley
- The prize is available for use only on Saturday 3 November commencing at 08:30am. The Prize Winner is responsible for any other costs associated with accepting the prize including but not limited to travel to and from the venue and accommodation.
