Join the search for The Gruffalo at Scenic World again in 2024
The exciting, augmented reality experience The Gruffalo Spotters Trail, featuring the much-loved children’s book character, The Gruffalo, is coming back to Scenic World in 2024.
Ride The World's Steepest Railway
Your adventure starts by heading into the Jamison Valley, so why not catch a ride on the world's steepest train? Barreling through the tunnel and down the cliff at up to 52°, check out incredible views of Mount Solitary and the Jamison Valley. You can take the Scenic Railway into and out of the valley on your quest to spot your friends from The Gruffalo. You can catch the train as many times as you like with your ticket.

Spot characters from The Gruffalo along the Scenic Walkway
Time to search the deep, dark woods along Scenic World’s elevated boardwalk! Look out for the interactive signs that trigger the appearances of the characters on your phone.
Using the free Gruffalo Spotter app, visitors will be able to take photos and videos of themselves with the characters as the five signs along the walk activate Mouse, Fox, Owl, Snake and the Gruffalo - foxtrot with The Fox, have a hoot with The Owl, hissssss with The Snake, make friends with The Mouse and get to know The Gruffalo.
The Gruffalo Spotter Trail takes place along the 30 minute boardwalk, but there's also to 10 and 50 minute routes to explore.

Ride the Scenic Cableway
The Southern Hemisphere's steepest (and most awesome) cable car. Drop off the side of the escarpment, wave hello to Meehni, Wimlah and Gunnedoo (aka the Three Sisters) and head into the ancient Jurassic rainforest of the Jamison Valley. From here, join the search for Mouse, Fox, Owl and The Gruffalo along our elevated boardwalks. You can catch the Scenic Cableway into or out of the valley as many times as you like

Back to Main Building + Skyway
When you've come back up from the Jamison Valley, check out our dedicated Gruffalo retail section, and head to take a ride on the iconic Scenic Skyway on level 1. Cruise 270m above the valley floor (which you can see clearly through the glass floor runway). There's no better view of the entire valley, Orphan Rock, Three Sisters and Katoomba Falls. You can ride the Skyway as many times as you like.
