Enjoy the Scenic Railway, Cableway, Skyway and Walkway as many times as you like in a single day/from the time you arrive. Explore at your own pace and on your own schedule. Includes Dinosaur Valley and The Gruffalo Trail (returns in 2024).

Do I have to book online?

We recommend booking online, though walk-up tickets are also available when sessions are not sold out. Booking online helps us manage the experience and avoids disappointment. During our peak seasons, popular sessions do sell out.

Can I leave and re-enter?

Yes. We allow re-entry on the same ticket, for that day.

What time is the last ride?

Last ride times vary depending on factors such as the day of the week and weather conditions. Check available sessions here.

How often do the rides depart?

Rides depart every 7—10 minutes depending on the ride.

What happens if it rains?

Scenic World is an all-weather attraction; rides still operate in the rain. The Railway, Skyway and Cableway cabins are enclosed to provide shelter. Rain ponchos and umbrellas are available for purchase onsite.

Where do I start the Scenic World experience?

Guests begin their experience at our Main Building located at 1 Violet Street, Katoomba. Scenic Pass check-in occurs at the main building entrance.

What is considered a valid concession?

International/Australian students, seniors, pensioners and healthcare cardholders are all eligible for our concession rate. You'll be required to present a valid ID when checking-in.

Do you accept Companion Cards?

Absolutely. Admission is free for a registered caregiver accompanying a visitor with a disability - simply present your card at our Ticket Desk. Learn more about access to Scenic World. If you have any additional accessibility questions prior to your visit, please contact our Experience Planners to discuss individual requirements.

Can I bring a pram or stroller?

The Cableway and Skyway are both pram friendly experiences. For safety reasons prams and strollers are not permitted on the Scenic Railway. Pram access is limited on the longer routes of the Scenic Walkway due to steep gradients and multiple stairs.

Pram parking is available in the Main Building for the duration of your visit. Learn more about visiting with small children.

What is the minimum height or age for rides?

All Scenic World experiences are suitable for children of any age – there are no height or age restrictions. Infants, small children (<110cm tall) must be held by a guardian as baby seats are not provided on the Scenic Railway, Skyway or Cableway. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Do you have halal, vegetarian or vegan food available on site?

Scenic World offers Halal, vegan and vegetarian at both our café and casual eatery, EATS270. As we have seasonal menus, please contact our Experience Planners to discuss individual dietary requirements. Guests are welcome to bring food or beverages with them, picnic tables are available on site.

Is parking available?

Free undercover parking is available in our multi-storey carpark on site. During peak seasons, additional free parking is available within a 3-minute walk from our Main Building.

Are dogs or pets allowed on site?

As Scenic World is located within the Blue Mountains National Park, only registered service animals are permitted. Service animals are welcome to travel on both the Scenic Skyway & Cableway however, for animal welfare reasons, please discuss your individual circumstances before travelling on the Scenic Railway. We ask that guests visiting with a service dog carry their animal’s certification or registration papers.
