Our commitment to Reconciliation

We’re privileged to be surrounded by a World Heritage natural environment that's been home to the Gundungurra People for thousands of years. Our connection to Gundungurra Country is at the heart of everything we do - our reconciliation journey is a big part of how we honour this.

As we welcome visitors from all over the world, we want to share the significance of this Land to its Traditional Custodians. Thanks to Uncle David King, Gundungurra Elder and Indigenous Engagement Officer at Scenic World and our team of Indigenous guides, we are now able to do this through the Buunyal Tours and Yarns—bringing stories of Country to life for visitors from near and far.

We are proud to have a Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan endorsed by Reconciliation Australia - this Plan gives us a map for learning, listening, and action and shapes how we will engage with our team, our guests, and our broader community.

In 2026, Scenic World was proud to participate in Voices for Reconciliation during National Reconciliation Week - to stand together on Gundungurra Country and share a moment of respect, reflection and unity. The 2026 song was Beds Are Burning, a powerful reminder for all Australians to understand our shared history.
